46 binary exploitation challenges, each built around one protection: ASLR, canary, RELRO, NX. You analyse how a program was compiled and get past it, with a few reverse challenges alongside. Docker runs on their own servers, and the list stopped growing years ago.
Pros & cons
Pros
- One protection per challenge, so the lesson is never diluted
- Docker runs for you, no local build step to fight
- Includes reverse challenges, which most binary platforms drop
Cons
- The list is exhausted: nothing has been added for years
- Hints live in the comments, scattered and often stale
- English only, and the wording is thin on purpose
Who it fits
Fits once the basics of exploitation are understood and you need a checklist of protections to break one by one. Useless as a main feed, but the index is still a good syllabus.
Getting started
- Start with the challenges compiled without canary and without ASLR
- Work with the debug symbols, they cut the analysis time a lot
- Write down which protection each challenge taught and keep the list
History
The last new challenges were added in January 2020, confirmed when the site was checked. The servers still run and the old challenges are still reachable, so nothing is broken, but nothing has moved for over five years. Treat it as a finished course.
